Meet the Excy Keeper

Other lightweight and/or portable exercise equipment on the market have had to sacrifice high levels of intensity and high ranges of resistance because the devices aren't durable enough. For example, they scoot across the floor at moderate levels of intensity or have weight limitations. In addition, these devices are often too large and awkward to be easily transported or stored. Excy has eliminated these traditional challenges with a patented approach that allows riders to use their body weight and a flexible material called the Excy Keeper to keep the cycling system stationary even at high levels of intensity and resistance. With the Excy Keeper, riders can conveniently turn what they already have—a chair, table, and floor—into a robust total body cross trainer by simply placing their body weight on the Excy Keeper, whether in a standing, kneeling, lying, or sitting position. Excy can also be used as a stand-alone strength training upper body solution with heavy cranking at high resistance.

While riding Excy RXT in your own comfortable chair, you can easily multi-task and do things like talk on the phone, read a book, help kids with homework, check email or even socialize with friends. Recumbent bikes are known to provide a great option for a low-impact cardiovascular activity because they place less stress on the joints than a treadmill. In addition to being lightweight, portable, and fun, Excy RXT is also comfortable because you don’t have to worry about a new saddle or seat since you can use your own chair and even place pillows behind you or under your bottom for added comfort. Sculpt Arms, Shoulders, and Back Muscles Without Stepping Into a Gym

One of the most underutilized exercise systems on the planet, the Upper Body Ergometer (UBE), is now accessible anywhere! Similar to a conventional Upper Body Ergometer, you place Excy RXT on a table and can sit or stand to “pedal” with your hands for a moderate to high-intensity workout that builds upper body muscular fitness, boosts aerobic capacity, and burns calories. In this position, you can also use Excy to perform bicep curls, arm rows, and also crank it on the floor for strength training. Not only is it more fun compared to other arm workouts, but it is also designed to help firm and tone arms and shoulders without lifting weights or stepping into a gym. Excy RXT simply turns a table, counter top, or the floor into an opportunity to sculpt arms and burn triceps flab by “pedaling” with your hands for a complete upper body aerobic and strength building workout. Excy delivers strong gym-quality bi-directional resistance in a very unique way to accommodate a wide variety of strength training and range of motion upper body workouts. Patterns range from rotational cranks, to squatting over Excy and rowing backward to mimic a kayaking or rowing motion, doing small back and forth movements at high resistance to simulate weight lifting, and body weight exercises with your hands on the pedals to strengthen your back and shoulders.

Often times when we think of wanting to burn calories or build muscle, we go right for exercises that impact the Gluteus maximus (glutes) because it’s the largest muscle in the human body. But, a very close second is the bilateral latissimus dorsi muscles which are your “lats” and one of the widest muscles in the human body. So, we can’t forget to put our “lats” to work, especially after keeping our upper body confined all day working at a keyboard or holding our phones with our arms in a Tyrannosaurus rex position! Your upper body needs the same attention as your lower body and vice versa. Whether young or older, people are often shocked at the amount of calories they can burn and toning that can be done by using Excy RXT for upper body rotational and cranking exercises. The existing apparatus for this type of exercise, the Upper Body Ergometer (UBE), has predominately been viewed as something used for rehabilitation, not exercise or strength training. In addition, getting a quality experience often requires a trip to the gym, a physical therapy clinic, or a large piece of equipment people might not have room for in their home. So, the benefits of UBE exercises have largely gone unknown and are underutilized. However, a study published in the October 2010 issue of the “Journal of Strength and Conditioning Research” found that the arm crank, or bike, was as effective at measuring physical fitness as a bicycling ergometer. Not only was this great news for people who are temporarily or permanently disabled, but it also demonstrated that an upper body rotational exercise can be a fast power workout for the upper body and core, and a great way to retain cardiovascular fitness when our legs can’t be used or need a rest.
